"A Space Odyssey"
By Stanley Kubrick
The masterwork of Stanley Kubrick has sent us floating through an atmosphere of
haunting ethereal beauty and cutty edge 21st century contemporary style.
You may even catch your human reflection in a flash of shiny surface.  If indeed WE are the humans.....

And so it rained a little, but not before I grabbed the best of the Dearborn Garden Walk!  These beautiful gardens were well attended by a group
of creative and energy driven Chicagoans and I felt like I walked into another time and place in each cocoon.  Flowers flown in from Holland
last night in the first one below "Great Gatsby"; Tiffany & Company was alive and doing well at "Breakfast at Tiffany's"; and "Company" greeted
you as company with a table ladened with yummy delights and champagne.  And who would expect to sit on fur for brunch on Sunday-Steve
Burgert and Brenda Hesselberg of Bloom 3.  "Under the Tuscany Sun" was a whole village and no space was wasted.  "Sunset Boulevard"
was just as one would expect-even the designer went all out as  you can see to fit the bill for today.  "Sayonara" was tended to with the touch
of a Japanese flair, even the koi fish swam in comfort with the overhang providing shade.  "Flower Drum Song" designed their garden to
embrace oriental splendor that changed the look of Chicago, if only for one afternoon.

See you next year!

"Flower Drum Song: The Other Generation"
In this garden, as in the 1961 film, traditional Asia meets modern America for tea.
Generations and aesthetics collide and intermingle and create, finally, a triumphant
balance of elements and sharing of space where jazz and the gentle flower drum song are equally at home.
