Debbie Jagel, a/k/a ootragirl, lives life pushing beyond perceived boundaries daily.. and brings her
kaleidoscope of experience to her company Ootra. With her fierce passion and unbridled
creativity, Debbie is Ootra personified. Through Ootra, she gifts every woman the chance to let
her individual uniqueness shine through in a creative, fun way. Her styling gifts an energy of
feeling embraced. Debbie’s mantra is residual impact with haunting quality.
Receiving a B.S. in Elementary Education from Bucknell University, Debbie has continued her
education with a series of art and fashion courses at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
over the past eight years. She was one of the founding members of the Fashion Board for the
school, helping to bring scholarships and business experience to the design students.
Debbie is a true Renaissance woman. She founded Hunter Jagel Real Estate in 1995 and
continues to be that firm’s Managing Broker. With her statuesque form, Debbie has done runway
and modeling most of her life and is still currently with Factor Modeling Agency in Chicago. What
drives debbie is helping others to see their potential. Earlier this year, she helped create and
hosted a reality TV show called “So You Wanna Be A Designer”, an embracing, nurturing
environment for 6 designers to compete through challenges and eliminations yet with a
foundation of business networking and ultimately interviewing to be within Ootra.
A decade ago, she owned and operated a retail store named “Heaven” in Naperville to learn the
business side of retail. When she had learned all she could, she closed the doors and went off to
design her own fashion line and create Ootra. Back to her roots and original love, Debbie began
Ootra with a line of luxury bags. Ootra was a company developed to bring forth fashion to
everyone and create a venue for new designers. Launched in 2009 in the 900 Shops located on
Michigan Avenue in Chicago, she opened with her own luxurious collection of chic clutches,
sumptuous muffs, edgy totes, and utilitarian messenger bags. The Ootra brand expanded, and
moved to an independent brick and mortar site right on Main Street in the heart of Naperville, IL.

true self. Whether for a black tie or just shopping for groceries, Debbie’s styles are round the
clock. She brings forth the freedom to feel that each day can be what you make of it – mysterious,
