It’s the real thing- Classic and Sardinian pizzas inspired by Italy to flavor the shores of Lake
Michigan. The creative team is led by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Vice President
Christopher Favero and General Manager Gianfranco Cuneo, both of whom have come
from a family lineage of Italian restaurant proprietors.  Submerged in the culture as youths,
from their family meals at home, to working at the restaurants with their fathers, Favero
(aka “Big Frankie”) and Cuneo (aka “Little Frankie”) are experienced in bringing Italian
hospitality and wholesome simplicity to the dinner table.

The creative team also consists of Vice President Geoff Alexander, Executive Chef Candido
Aguilar and Corporate Chef Rita Dever. They have been instrumental in bringing to life
“Frankie,” whose persona and pizza pie fills the room with an irresistible aroma.

As supervising partner of Tucci Benucch and now of Frankie’s, Favero comments, “We
work with simple preparations featuring great sauces, local and organic ingredients, and
big tomato flavors.  This is a neighborhood restaurant, and our service reflects that. Our
guests are our family.”

And then there is the food.

The cozy Frankie’s Fifth Floor Pizzeria offers carry-out and The 900 Shops patio seating
for 50.  Creations are freshly made, baked to order, and feature classics such as
margherita pizza and sausage or pepperoni pizza; potato and rosemary pizza featuring soft,
thin potato slices with crispy brown edges topped with tossed arugula, truffle salt, truffle oil
and dusted with shaved parmesan; The Rita D, un squisito combination of seasoned
ricotta, fresh mozzarella, Milanese asparagus and a fresh egg cracked over the center of
the pie while cooking; and arugula and prosciutto pizza topped with grana padano, tossed
arugula and thinly sliced prosciutto.  Simple, flavorful Sardinian pizzas include red onion;
fennel and rosemary; parmesan and anchovy; and garlic pizza.

Frankie’s pizza is perfectly paired with a variety of fresh salads such as Italian salad and
famous chopped salad; appetizers including Frankie’s signature seasonal antipasti;
desserts such as homemade gelato and lemon souffle cheesecake; and a selection of
house wine.  Carry-out service is available.

As we walked closer to Frankie's
we were not sure if we would lunch
in the pizzeria or the dining room,
well, we could not walk past the
fragrance of the Sardinian pizzas!
And what a taste treat it was.  We
had the Margarita pizza and the
Sardinian pizza with anchovy,
mushroom, and garlic.

The very friendly waiter kept the
olive oil and parmigiana cheese
plate full throughout the entire
episode.  Unfortunately there was
no room for dessert...

Patrick Cornell, the manager came
to our table and explained all the
different styles of wood burning
pizzas.   And as we started to
leave Frankie came out to say
"Hello".  It is such a treat to be
welcomed as one coming into a
private home.
