(CHICAGO) – Borris Powell, the
Luxury Women’s Wear designer,
presented his Fall-Winter 2010
collection, The Rise of an Empress
collection on March 19, 2010 at the
Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel.
The self-taught dress designer’s
fifth fashion show featured over 20
pieces which included floor-length
gowns, cocktail mini-dresses and
luxury coats. The event was seen
by over 100 people of Chicago’s
fashion forward crowd Friday
evening and featured a flute trio
and bass singer to provide the
audience with the ambiance of
being in Rome.
The theme and tone for the Fall-
Winter 2010 collection was
inspired Powell’s trip to Rome. The
color palette for The Rise of an
Empress featured Gold and Cream
to Emerald Green and Wine tones.
“This collection was a pleasure to
create. It allowed me to
experiment with some amazing
shapes and colors and my favorite
luxury fabrics, satin and
cashmere,” said Borris Powell. “I
am very pleased with this
collection. It really speaks to a
feminine silhouette. The collection
is a great balance of soft and bold.
These pieces are perfect for
carrying a woman through any
after five events.”
