Marina Christiansen began her career as a Teacher/Counselor for grades 1-8 in California,
Colorado and Illinois. After a successful period in teaching she moved on into the entertainment
industry working with The Sammy Davis and Company Show as a Chicago Representative for the
California based company organizing and coordinated the show’s airing and expediting the
videotapes to television stations nation-wide.
Marina was then offered to run the Cassette Division in Los Angeles, California with Universal
Recording-Production as a Coordinator.
She was also employed for Trans World Airlines as a Flight Attendant for 15 years, traveling
extensively throughout Europe and the United States.
Becoming a concierge with The Whitehall Hotel, Marina supervised bellmen and doormen and
assisted the service staffs in the day to day operations to insure the comfort and
accommodations of the guests from arranging reservations for restaurants, theatre tickets to
sold out events, babysitters, limousines to sewing buttons on clothing for guests. No request was
impossible. Networking with concierges worldwide helped to provide high quality services.
Marina also assisted with the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau as a concierge for the
Convention Bureau to help conventioners at McCormick Place.
She also participated in the Democratic National Convention Hospitality Program to reach out to
all sections of the hospitality industry to encourage the creation of special promotions, discounts
and incentives for Democratic National Convention visitors and Chicagoans alike while working
closely with the press on promoting Chicago.
Marina Christiansen is currently employed at the Westin Michigan Avenue as their Chef Concierge
where she has celebrated 20 years this past May. Throughout this time she has received many
employee and service awards. She is a member of the prestigious Les Clef d’Or, USA. and is
fluent in Greek, Italian and Spanish.
