Evanston, Illinois born William Peterson, Golden Globe and Emmy nominated star of television's CSI, smiled for the
camera surrounded by his illustrious peers and friends before he accepted the 2008 Larry Sloan Heritage Award at
the Smart Museum, Chicago, on World Aids Day, December 1, 2008.
The Actors Equity Association was given the Partnership Award accepted by Ms. Kathryn Lamkey, and Larry Baker of
the Jersey Boys Chicago was given the Advocate award.
Following the reception and ceremony, guests walked across the courtyard to the Court Theatre, where they were
entertained with a concert, The Chicago AIDS Quilt Songbook, which was written by Chicago based composers in
response to the AIDS epidemic, and performed by sixteen talented vocalists of The Chicago Opera Vanguard. The
proceeds of the event are to benefit Season of Concern, an organization that provides care to those experiencing
catastrophic illnesses.
