The Universal Rewards Exchange and The
Motivation Show form marketing
partnership on rewards delivery

CHICAGO, IL, and TARRYTOWN, NY
The Motivation Show and the Universal
Rewards Exchange(URE) have announced a
marketing partnership designed to help
improve the efficiency of sales between
exhibitors and buyers of incentive
merchandise, gift cards, events and travel
programs. As the world’s largest incentive
and recognition event, The Motivation Show
seeks to offer its exhibitors the most
efficient way to increase sales and more
easily track the business they do in the
incentive and recognition industry.

“Because the Universal Rewards Exchange
is open to all qualified incentive and
recognition suppliers, incentive companies,
and promotional products companies, as a
means to improve industry efficiency and
tracking, we believe it can provide a critical
service to an industry in need of more
efficient ways to maximize award delivery
and track incentive sales,” said Pete
Erickson, Managing Director of The
Motivation Show.

The Universal Rewards Exchange (URE)
was launched in 2010, spearheaded by a
task force of leading merchandise brands
and incentive companies who had identified
the need for a more effective way to
manage and automate the redemption of
rewards in points-based incentive
programs and corporate gift programs
through the incentive channel.

The URE makes it easy for brands and
incentive fulfillment companies to place
their products into qualified rewards
programs; track their sales against an
aggregate of other brands; verify that their
products are being used in qualified
incentive, recognition and gift programs;
and keep the marketplace up to date with
their latest products.

For incentive companies and promotional
products distributors, the URE fully
automates direct connections to the real-
time inventory of brand manufacturers and
wholesale distributors. Incentive
companies and distributors can use either
their own catalogs or the URE’s
customizable catalogs; select the suppliers
of their choice and pay either directly or via
a consolidated bill; choose from any brand
or award category or supplier; access real-
time pricing and availability; and
personalize and customize catalogs and
packaging.

Any exhibitor, incentive marketing
company, or promotional products
distributor attendee at The Motivation Show
is eligible to participate.  All 2011 reseller
registrants will receive updates on the URE
throughout the year, along with information
on scheduling face-to-face meetings at
showtime with participating brands and
incentive fulfillment companies through the
MotivationConnect appointment
scheduler.

“Our goal is to help our industry provide a
world-class way of engaging customers,
channel partners, employees and vendors
with carefully selected awards delivered in
a personalized way to maximize impact,”
explained Mike Hadlow, CEO of
Engagement Technology LLC, the parent
company of the Universal Rewards
Exchange. “We believe we can help all of
the players in the field improve their
efficiency and value to end-users by
providing a highly flexible, customizable,
and transparent solution designed to meet
the needs of all industry players.”

Recognition Professionals International announces
Fall Summit program at The Motivation Show

Chicago and St. Paul (June 24, 2011) -- Recognition Professionals International (RPI) has
announced that it will produce a Fall Summit to include education sessions, certification
courses, and a luncheon program during the 2011 Motivation Show, which meets October 4-
6 at Chicago’s McCormick West.

“The Motivation Show provides RPI with an excellent forum to reach a large number of
public and private companies that are expanding their recognition strategy,” said Paul
Hanscom, Executive Director of RPI.  “Sound, cost-effective recognition systems keep
employees focused through tough times and are vital tools in any motivation program.  The
October Show will allow us to share our education and 7 best-practice standards with a
larger community.”

The RPI Fall Summit will include two education sessions presented on Wednesday, Oct. 5,
by RPI members from Rideau Recognition Solutions, University of Michigan Health Systems,
Maritz, and The Miller Company, entitled:

•Learn from the Best: Recognition Professionals International (RPI) 2011 Best Practice
Winners
•Thought-Leader Forum: Creating an RFP for a Reward and Recognition System
RPI will also offer two parts of the Certified Recognition Professional®curriculum during The
Motivation Show.  CRP II - Strategic Planning & Measurement, will be presented on Tuesday,
Oct. 4, and CRP III -Recognition Management & Maintenance, will be presented on Thursday,
Oct. 6.  To earn a CRP designation, candidates must complete four full-day facilitator-led
courses and pass the required testing.  Complete information on the CRP curriculum is
available at www.recognition.org.

“All effective recognition programs are dynamic cycles of assessment, strategy,
implementation, and review.  While this cycle is easy to define, it's difficult to execute well.
That’s why RPI has developed the Certified Recognition Professional®(CRP) curriculum and
7 Best Practice Standards to guide participants through this process and produce
measurable benefits for their organizations,” said Hanscom.  “The RPI Certified Recognition
Professional program sets the standard for assessment of an individual’s abilities and
provides a means for recognition professionals to acquire the needed skills and knowledge
to excel.”

Pete Erickson, Managing Director of The Motivation Show, commented, “We’re very pleased
to see that RPI is expanding its presence in October to offer an outstanding educational and
networking opportunity for any executive interested in learning more about recognition best
practices, along with the products and services available to plan effective recognition
programs.”

RPI will be an Association Supporter of the 5thAnnual Conference: Connecting Engagement,
Loyalty, and Financial Results, and many of its members will present during the three days.
The Conference will feature seventeen 75-minute seminar programs in the Employee
Recognition learning track.  Topics include:

•Don't Let Your Top Performers Jump Ship! Creating Loyalty Within Your Organization
•Wellness Programs: A Prescription for Healthy Employees and a Healthy Bottom Line
•Attaching a Recognition and Reward System to Strategic Priorities: A Case Study with
Dollar/Thrifty Rental Car
•You Have to Play to Win: How Game Dynamics can Revolutionize Employee Recognition (An
Interactive Session)
